Westfield Golf – Operations and Safety Measures – updated April 5, 2021

Please be diligent keeping members, guests and staff safe as we continue to navigate through the difficult situation with COVID19.  In support of these efforts, Management and Staff are focused on three safety priorities:

Reducing common on-course touch points that are difficult, if not impossible to keep consistently clean and disinfected:

Golf Holes – all ball washers and sand trap rakes have been removed and raised cups installed on the greens.  Flag sticks are not to be removed from the holes.

Helpful Hints – to help keep your clubs and balls clean, we have smart towels available for sale in the Pro-Shop designed to remain moist for a full round.  There are rake extensions available online that attach to a golf club for that perfectly raked lie.

Power / Push Carts – every cart is cleaned and disinfected after every usage.

On-Course Washrooms – are cleaned and disinfected every morning and checked twice daily to ensure cleanliness.

Ensuring the clubhouse, washrooms, locker rooms, and restaurant areas are clean and disinfected:

Common Touch Points – door knobs, washrooms, phones, payment terminals, the score entry station, etc. are all cleaned and sanitized by staff and/or these areas are equipped with the hand sanitizer and disinfectant to ensure government safety standards are met.

Pro-Shop Merchandise – any merchandise that is handled by customers is set aside for 24 hours before returned to the shopping area.

Golf Services Operations Employee Protocols – daily management and staff safety and cleaning measures are outlined in a checklist for both the Pro-Shop and Back-Shop staff to complete daily.

Social Distancing, Personal Hygiene and Public Safety Measures:

Tee Time Bookings – remain limited to 10 minute intervals to ensure proper distance between groups.

Non-Member Bookings – require first and last name of each individual golfer and a group contact number in case of a COVID19 incident.

Pro-Shop Entry Before Play – all golfers are instructed and are required to check into the Pro-Shop before play.

Pro-Shop Access – will continue to be restricted to four people or less with applicable signage at each entrance.

Handling Member / Non-Member Golf Bags – Back-Shop Staff are encouraged to wear masks and gloves while handling golf bags, golf carts and cleaning clubs.

Proper Public Safety Signage – we continue to adhere to N.B. Dept. of Health guidelines with prominent personal hygiene and social distancing signage around the clubhouse and in all public washrooms.

To some members these measures may seem restrictive and/or extreme.  However, be assured our only intent is the continued safety and wellbeing of members, guests, and staff of Westfield Golf Club and Grass Roots Grill.  We will continue to monitor the ever-changing COVID situation and will make the appropriate changes under the guidance of the N.B. Dept. of Health, Golf Canada and Golf NB.
